Our first introduction to this tour will be in the Côte d'Azur as we settle into the beautiful 4-star Relais de la Magdeleine, an 18th century bastide style country house run by the Marignane family offering inviting comfort and provençal atmosphere. And the Food ! - We will enjoy traditional breakfast and dinners here.

From this wonderful haven we will take our private coach to explore such places as – Aix-en-Provence, Cassis Bandol, St. Tropez, and the villages of the Luberon.

After our exploration of the charming part of Provence we will travel to Avignon to board our waiting river ship The Viking Burgundy. We will settle in over welcome cocktails and then dinner – a great beginning to a wonderful 7 night cruise from Provence, through the Rhone Alpes region, and into Provence.

River Cruising Life …
Our river ship is docked in a different town every night, we do not move at night – we cruise only during the day and only part of the day. While cruising we can relax in any of the ship's beautiful and comfortable lounges or up on the Sun Deck watching the scenery go by, read, or just catch some rays.

Each day we have a new sightseeing adventure included in our program – the vineyards of Burgundy, the old medieval streets of Lyon and Vienne, a narrow gauge rail trip through the Ardeche gorge region, a Crozes Hermitage wine tasting, a tour of the 'City of Popes' – Avignon, and the ancient Roman city of Arles so loved by VanGogh.

Great Breakfasts, lunches, and sumptuous dinners on board including a special Welcome Dinner and Captain's dinner.

We will have the opportunity to enjoy lectures and entertainment on board as well.

After leaving our river ship in Chalon sur Saone we will travel by coach to Lyon for an additional two nights in this wonderful city holding claim as the Gastronomic Capital of France.

We will provide transportation to Lyon Airport for departure.
