Baden
The Town of Baden is located just 25 kms from Vienna, surrounded by the Vienna woods and vineyards. Although originally developed as a thermal retreat by the Romans, it continued to flourish through the ages. It is recorded in 869 as the seat of a Frankish imperial palace. Through the Golden Age it enjoyed popularity as a cultural and spa destination by the aristocracy of the 19th century. The town was ravaged by fire in 1812, then extensively rebuilt in the "Biedermeier" style. This style refers to work in the fields of literature, music, the visual arts and interior design during the period between 1815 and 1848. This style corresponds with the Regency style in England and the Empire style in France.

Vienna
Vienna is situated in the North-East of Austria and lies on the banks of the majestic Danube river. Surrounded by the natural beauty of the Wachau region, the Vienna woods ('Wiener Wald') and with numerous green expanses and parks Vienna is an exceptionally agreeable city. As a result of Vienna being the capital of Austria and totally in keeping with the international traditions of the Habsburg empire its population is highly diverse. Board your overnight international flight on Austrian Airines, non-stop to Vienna.

Day 1: MON Dec 20th - Arrive in BADEN, AUSTRIA
Welcome to AUSTRIA! Arriving today at the airport we transfer by road, accompanied by Canadian Woman Traveller Tour Escort - Rose Tomassini, to our impressive 4-Star Hotel & Spa located in the lovely town of Baden. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure to explore, relax and settle into our surroundings before regrouping for the tour's welcome reception and dinner. Day 4: THU Dec 23rd, VIENNA
Whether you have been to Vienna before or not, there are so many things to do in this wonderful city! Over breakfast we will coordinate who would like to join Rose Tommasini, your tour escort with some sightseeing and who would like to explore on their own. Shopping aside there are tons of options; the galleries, the Hoffburg Palace, the Royal Apartments, the Spanish Riding School. We'll have to leave time for hot chocolate in one of Vienna's many coffee houses. Don't forget that Vienna's Christmas Markets are still in full swing too! Day 5: FRI Dec 24th, VIENNA - CHRISTMAS EVE
It is becoming a tradition with our groups, that on Christmas Eve we all scour the city for festive and wonderful treats to bring along for our Christmas Day brunch get together. It's great to get caught up in the last minute flourish to search out and discover the Viennese favourites in pastries, meats, cheeses, sweets etc. We have a Christmas Eve dinner planned at our hotel. Day 6: SAT Dec 25th, VIENNA - MERRY CHRISTMAS!
This morning we are off to the Palace! We will attend a mass with a performance by the world-renowned Vienna Boys Choir in the Imperial Chapel. We return to our hotel for a Christmas Lunch and have the rest of the afternoon free to walk around the historic and wonderful city of Vienna! Day 7: SUN Dec 26th, Depart for HOME CITY
After breakfast we make our way to Vienna's International Airport for our journey home, filled with wonderful holiday memories. Meals: (B) Breakfast
