An Invitation to join me for “A Christmas in Paris”
At this point in my life my family is grown and at Christmas time they are all going
in different directions. So, I now have the ability to do whatever I want for my
personal Christmas celebration. And this year I have chosen to go to Paris.
Now Paris is a party city and is really only fun if we have the opportunity to enjoy
And share it with others.
So this past May Debbie and I took some time to return to Paris to find the perfect
little hotel to stay in and some great things for us to do. We would now like to extend
an invitation for you to join me to spend a week in 'The City of Light' at Christmas time.
Paris has been referred to as “The City of Light” since 1892 when it was one of the first cities in Europe to receive an extensive network of gas lighting, but it takes on a whole new meaning at Christmas time!
From the leafless plane trees that line either side of the grand avenue ablaze with fairy lights all the way from the Place de la Concorde to the Arc de Triomphe to scores of other grand avenues competing for attention. On the left bank the National Assembly is illuminated with blue lights, further down river the Eiffel Tower twinkles with thousands of fairy lights. Even Paris' 13 bridges are all decorated. Then of course every shop and grand magazin competes for attention with lights and window displays - what a feast for the eyes!
We've got lots to do and see so whether this is your first or tenth time come along with me to Paris for Christmas and a great gals' adventure -
Rose Tomassini
Our Itinerary:
Dec 20 - fly from your home city to Paris. We are happy to assist to arrange flights from your home city
and private transfers from the airport to our hotel.
Dec 21 - I will be waiting for you at our hotel.
This evening we have arranged a fun welcome dinner for us to all get to know each other.
Dec 22 - Our first full day in Paris of course must start with a city tour. A private mini-coach will pick us
up at our hotel and take us on a get-acquainted tour of this dazzling city. We have arranged
to finish the tour at Monmartre to allow us time to linger there. There are some really great
and fun restaurants here so it would make a great place to stop for lunch.
Later I invite you to travel back with me through some of the right bank neighbourhoods (opera,
Place Vendome etc) to our hotel. I will be taking in one of my favourite restaurants for dinner
and will invite you all to join me.
Dec 23 - After breakfast this morning we will hop on the 'Metro' as we have
a date with one of our favourite Vintage Ladies shops on the right bank.
Wait till you see their array of designer clothes and bags and shoes…..
Well, that was fun - but we have to leave now as the Museé d'Orsay
beckons for our group visit. I can't help but return to this gorgeous
building housing my favourite Imppressionist works of art. The dining
room is still architecturally correct from the time that this magnificent
building was a train station is worth the time to come here alone, oh,
and it's likely time for lunch. We'll then make our way back to our
hotel through the lovely St. Germain de Pres neighbourhood. We will
grab a casual dinner at a nearby café because tonight we are going out!
In the evening we will be picked up at our hotel for our private night
illuminations tour. Even more at Christmas time Paris takes on a
magical feel at night.
Dec 24 - After breakfast this morning we head out of town for a
half day tour to Henry XIV's magnificent Versailles Palace.
This afternoon is free and you have time to browse or
stroll etc… Maybe this evening we can catch a concert
at St. Sulpice, some of you might like to attend midnight
mass at Notre Dame…. Let's remember to buy some
champagne to have with our breakfast.
Dec 25 - Merry Christmas ! We have a great activity planned today.
We have reservations to enjoy our Christmas lunch on board a Seine River
Cruise together - how's that for something different on Christmas Day!
Gliding under Paris's 13 bridges with a view of an ancient city from the river
always puts you in touch with its pulse. It will be fascinating to celebrate
Christmas with people from around the world on the most Parisian of outings.
Dec 26 - After breakfast today please keep some time free as we have been invited
to a Champagne tasting and Fashion Show at the famous Galleries Lafayette!
What is a visit to Paris without a fashion show -(they assure us that they show
designer stuff !) Of course there will be time to shop and in the evening we will all get together
for our farewell dinner.
Dec 27 - So, it's time to go back to reality. W e will be happy to assist to coordinate transfers back to
the airport for your flight home.
So, what shall we do next year ?
