Jill Boschulte
Artist, Jill Boschulte lives in Sundridge, Ontario.
Her work examines the rugged landscape from two distinct vantage points, an aerial perspective and a traditional “feet on the ground” standpoint. Images are derived from observations and interpretations of weather phenomena, changing seasons and unique landforms. They are modified and manipulated using a variety of techniques including printmaking, collage, drawing and painting. The works on paper combine various media such as oil and chalk pastel, ink, watercolour, graphite, oil stick and water-soluble pencil.
Jill has taught in a variety of situations, working with educators, adolescents, children, artists and artists-in-progress. She encourages students to explore their creativity in upbeat and non-threatening workshop situations.
In 1987, she designed and subsequently managed a 3-year Federal Jobs Strategy project that trained and employed visual artists in an innovative five-month program. From 1992-92, she was employed as a part-time instructor at Canadore College in North Bay, and in the summer Artsperience program. From 1994 – 97, Jill Boschulte was the Director / Curator of the W.K.P. Kennedy Public Gallery in North Bay.
She is currently working full-time as a visual artist. At present, Jill's work is included in the exhibition, Two Nations, touring throughout Cuba. An exhibition called Going Solo of 26 aviation-based images, is currently touring Ontario galleries.
