ITINERARY
Feb. 20 – Arrive St. Lucia to board the Caledonia
We begin our trip in Vieux Fort Bay and join the
Caledonia at anchor. As the sun sets over the
Caribbean Sea, we sail north to Jalousie Bay.
Martinique -
Feb. 21 - We awake in the morning with a spectacular view
of the beach and the breathtaking, unforgettable spires
of 'Les Pitons'. Located near Soufrière, these primeval
twin peaks, topping 2,000 feet, are St. Lucia's most famous landmark. We end our
second day with a sunset cruise up the coast to Marigot Bay.
Feb. 22. – The next day we go whale watching as we cruise the secluded coves and
coastlines of St. Lucia and Martinique, enroute to Dominica. We arrive early
evening at the capital city, Rosseau where we anchor overnight.
Martinique -
Feb 23 - We will remain in Rosseau the entire day to allow us the opportunity to tour the
rich nature of this Caribbean island. Expect a mountainous interior featuring
rainforests, waterfalls, lakes, hot springs and more than 200 rivers, many of which
cascade over steep cliff faces, The best way to experience this fabulous terrain is
to pull on your hiking boots and start walking. Others may enjoy a mountain bike or
jeep tour of old estate trails and the nearby sulfur springs.
Martinique -
Feb 24 - Today, we sail south to Martinique – a little slice of France with a delightful
blend of West Indian Creole traditions that dominate the island's cuisine, language
and music. We arrive early evening near Fort-de-France, built in 1640, as the
capital of Martinique. We will anchor overnight.
Feb. 25 – Today we may tour the city's markets and if we are lucky
see an open-air concert at the Savane. This afternoon, we
return to St. Lucia, sailing south to Rodney Bay where we
relax and enjoy the sunset at anchor for the evening.
Feb. 26 - Today we may choose to hike Pigeon Island National Park, or take a sea-kayak
tour of this large protected bay, featuring a large lagoon and home to the Rodney
Bay Marina. Later in the afternoon, we take a leisurely cruise to the bayside town
of Soufrière. Tonight as we enjoy a grand dinner on board we reflect on our
wonderful trip over the past week.
Martinique -
Feb. 27 – after breakfast we disembark at Vieux Fort Bay.
