From Vienna to Nuremberg for 7 nights, with wonderful meals and entertainment on board
Vienna ! What a wonderful place to start our tour. Vienna has all the
ingredients to set the scene for an old European Christmas state of mind. The
Palace, St. Stephens Cathedral, the coffee shops with the most decadent
confections not to mention the oldtime Christmas Markets in full swing on the
pedestrian streets and on the big square in front of the beautifully decorated City Hall.
We will spend the first two nights in Vienna on board the elegant river ship the
“River Empress” before setting off up the Danube visiting ancient towns and
Christmas Markets all the way to the big one “Nuremberg”.
Day by Day Cruise Itinerary -
Nov 26 - Depart home city for Vienna
Nov 27 - Vienna - Arrive Vienna airport and transfer to your festively decorated
'floating hotel'. This evening enjoy dinner on board with your fellow passengers.
Nov 28 - Vienna - Today we will have a guided tour of St. Stephan's cathedral
and the Christmas Market outside city hall. This evening we will attend a Mozart
and Strauss concert in an old Viennese palace.
Nov 29 - Wachau Valley - We have a guided walk and wine tasting in the fairytale village of Durnstein. Relax on board as your cruise continues through the scenic Wachau Valley to Linz, arriving in time to visit the Baroque market square, festively decorated for Christmas

Nov 30 -
Salzburg - Passau - We depart by motorcoach for a scenic drive
through upper Austria to Salzburg. There will be free time to explore on your
own, or visit the Christmas market before rejoining the ship at Passau.
Dec 01 - Passau - We will tour beautiful Passau, visiting its Baroque cathedral
and Christmas market. This afternoon our cruise continues along the Danube.
Dec 02 - Regensburg - We will discover Regensburg's charming market
square and Christmas market. This afternoon, we will cruise the 106 mile long
Main-Danube canal. Tonight we enjoy dinner at a typical family-owned Bavarian
brewery, complete with oom-pah-pah band.
Dec 03 - Nuremberg - The highlight of our Christmas markets cruise is Nuremberg. We will have a fascinating guided city tour, then time to explore Germany's most famous Christmas market at our own pace. This evening, we join the Captain for cocktails and dinner
Dec 04 - Depart Nuremberg - we disembark after breakfast and transfer for our flight to Vienna and onward flight home.

On arrival in Vienna we will travel south (1 ˝ hours drive)
to the province of Styria. This area enjoys a totally different
climate than Vienna. Last November we had sunshine and
even enjoyed swimming in the outdoor pool !
