About Nancy Williams Nancy is a certified Kripalu yoga teacher, having completed her
training at the Kripalu Centre for Yoga and Health in Lenox,
Massachusetts. She has taught yoga with The Yoga Connection in Perth, Ontario, since 2001 and is presently working towards
an advanced yoga teacher training certificate. Nancy teaches
classes for children, seniors and everyone in- between, those
who prefer a more gentle practice and those who wish to focus
on a fuller expression of postures to develop strength and
flexibility.
Kripalu yoga is known as the yoga of compassion and is a way to integrate body, mind and spirit through opening to the wisdom of the body. This yoga is for everyone. Each class begins with a centering on the breath, followed by warm-ups and postures to connect movement to the breath, lubricate the joints and move the spine. A guided relaxation completes the practice and is a wonderful way to begin the day. Nancy and her husband have lived in Perth for 35 years. She is a retired elementary school teacher who taught kindergarten in the Perth area for over 18 years. Nancy is also a certified Fitness Instructor with Can-Fit-Pro and enjoys teaching a weekly fitness class to seniors. Nancy will be joined by her husband Wayne on her Yoga Cruise on Celebrity Cruise Line's "Summit" out of San Juan from January 31 to February 07, 2008. She will be offering optional morning Yoga sessions on deck and a few workshops in the afternoons to fit in with the wonderful cruise program. Whether you plan to take part in the Yoga sessions or not Nancy invites you to join her on this exciting Caribbean Cruise Holiday.

Valerie travelled with 15 gals to France in July through one of our sister companies 'Paintbrush Holidays' spending 3 nights in Paris and then 7 nights on board a deluxe River Ship cruising the Seine River exploring favourite haunts of the Impressionist Artists lilke Van Gogh's Auvers-sur-Oise, Claude Monet's house and gardens in Giverny and Boudin's beloved Honfleur, and even held painting workshops on board. She took great delight to tell me that they held a sale on board ship the last day of the cruise and 9 paintings were sold ! The other passengers were thrilled to obtain an original painting as a souvenir of their trip through this beautiful region of France.
Valerie has all the technical and academic background to make a wonderful teacher but more than this she displays a gracious, exuberant spirit that makes her passengers feel comfortable and inspired throughout her trips. It has been great receiving such positive reports from her passengers and I am very pleased to be associated with her.
So many women are asking about this style of holiday that we are showing her programs on the 2008 Canadian Woman Traveller's site as well.
In 1989 looking for an opportunity to combine her educational background in media relations and her passion for the mountain lifestyle, Holly sold her business and relocated to Banff, Alberta. She began what she calls “ a memorable sixteen-year love affair '' as an executive with what was then Canadian Pacific Hotels and Resorts.
As Regional Director of Public Relations, Holly over saw the satellite PR offices of The Fairmont Banff Springs, Château Lake Louise, Jasper Park Lodge, Hotel MacDonald and the Palliser, managing a team of five. The success of the “ Alberta PR Girls '' is legendry in the tourism industry and well documented locally, national and internationally with the targeted publicity that Holly and her dynamic team generated on behalf of the Fairmont brand.
Holly is a veteran of wilderness adventures. She spent 17 years living in Banff working as an executive in the tourism industry. As the Regional Director of Public Relations for the Banff Springs and its sister properties she organized numerous specialized trips for women. Golf, hiking and skiing are just some of the activities that she has hosted for adventure-seeking women, but her true passion is riding horses in the backcountry of Banff National Park. “We live in such a fast-paced world that to totally leave behind the challenges and pressures of demanding careers, family and the expectations of a spouse and retreat into the backcountry with like-minded groups of women is to strip life down to the basics. The country is beautiful, the horses are reliable, and the accommodation and food are excellent. The rewarding part is the camaraderie and bonding that you experience when traveling with women. The laughter and honesty are what make the trip memorable.”
Wood, a gifted raconteur, delights her audience with tales of the many celebrities she met while working at the legendry Banff Springs as well as stories of wildlife (translate bear) encounters she has had. When Wood started trail riding in Banff, she had very little experience. She learned that a love of horses and wilderness is all one needs to have an enjoyable experience in the mountains. Her advice for first-timers is “Do not hesitate, women of all ages and abilities join us in the backcountry. Everyone rides together there is no competition. It is all about the experience. At the end of the day, we are truly sisters in the saddle.”
Moving to Calgary in 2006 in support of a career move for her husband Doug, an executive in the golf industry, she placed her entrepreneurial nature to work and opened Right Mind Media. A full service public relations company that develops dynamic marketing and communications strategies designed to raise awareness in local, national, and international markets through proactive media relations.
Holly knows the value of taking the time to get away and surround herself in a beautiful natural, quiet environment where you can breathe deep to reground and regenerate and loves to do this in the camaraderie of her groups.
Join Holly on her 5 day Women's Wilderness Adventure Ride, August 13 - 17, 2007
As a lady,I am more interested in details of excellence and taking care lots of things more carefully than men who do my business .
This gave me lots of advantages.I now have a travel agency and have around 40 staff working with me.
My staff respect and love me as their sister.
I am always with them when they have bad days such as when they had funerals or some other things,or i am also with
them in their happy days too.
So once they needed me,I was with them and will try to be like this in the future too.
So almost all have never complaint the working hours or lots of work and etc.
I have also done something for them and gave them shares from my company.
So we have almost a family run travel agency now and I am proud of this as a woman.
I know what women may like and want to see or want to have.
All of my programs are prepared by me specially and I have done all those programs personally
myself to understand and feel of it .I think this is one of the secrets of my itineraries.
All women who join my tours would like to come back and join my other tours which they mostly did.
Like most countries in the Middle East,Turkey is a patriarchal society.
But Turkey is a republic and there is a great freedom in religion.
Turkey is secular democratic country.
However, when compared to most countries in the region, women have far more rights and thanks to
the reforms implemented by the founder of the modern republic,Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.
There are mainly 4 types of women in Turkey.
In the professions, women are well represented, particularly in higher education where they comprise 34% of all university professors.
Finally, politicians such as Tansu Ciller,Turkey's first woman prime minister is a new model for women as actors in the political arena.
By the way,did you know that,Turkey granted women the right to vote and serve in parliament in 1934 following the founding of the modern
republic 11 years earlier. 10 years before the French women!!
Women are now legally allowed to take a job without first seeking their spouse's permission, and their husbands no longer have the right to
decide unilaterally where a couple will live.
But by far the most significant element of the new legislation is the provision that married women are entitled to an equal share of joint assets in
the event of divorce.
The percentage of women lawyers, doctors and stockbrokers is higher than in many Western nations.
