Canadian Woman Traveller's founder and President, Debbie Lloyd, began organizing special interest tours in the mid 80's after more than 10 years working as a travel agent. Frequently approached by women inquiring as to the demographics of her clients, she found that their concern was always the same – not to be the only single woman within a group made up of couples. She soon realized that for every woman who would call with this question, there were many more out there who had the same concerns. From this conclusion, the idea for Canadian Woman Traveller was born. Canadian Woman Traveller's passengers are women of all ages and from varied backgrounds. They are single, married, divorced and widowed. These women appreciate their special style of looking after the passengers, and the camaraderie of travelling with other women that often results in life-long friendships.

Canadian Woman Traveller's specialty tour programs have developed at a tremendous pace since the founding of the company in 2001. Many of last year's passengers were asking for more varied programs than the original concept of walking tours of Europe. The company quickly branched out to include other special interests including painting, cooking, shopping, cruising, spa retreats and yoga.

The special camaraderie and security offered through their fully escorted programs, and the unique theme travel that is offered, have all added to the recent success of this female-centered and female-owned tour company.
